As with any pupil, the first step for those applying from outwith the United Kingdom is filling out an application form. This must be accompanied with the £40 registration fee and a copy of the child’s passport and most recent school report. The application must be filled out in English.
We will then invite the pupil to sit an entrance assessment either at Albyn School or at their current school if staff at that school are happy to administer the assessment on our behalf. We may ask your child to sit an English test through the UK Independent Schools’ Entry Test (UKiset). These tests can be taken all over the world at an authorised test centre. More information on this testing can be found at www.ukiset.com.
Once your child has completed the testing process and has been offered a place, we will require confirmation of this acceptance via email or post. Depending on where you are applying from, the process may be slightly different;
- Those applying within the European Union and hold an EU passport do not require a student visa and will have to pay a deposit to the School.
- Those applying from outside the European Union who do not hold an EU passport will be required to apply for a student visa and will need to pay a deposit to the School. Once we have received your deposit, we will apply to the UK government’s Home Office for your CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) number with confirmation that we have offered your child a place to study at Albyn School, and that you have accepted this. We will send you the CAS number along with a list of documentation you will need for the visa application process. You will only be able to apply for your visa a maximum of three months before the start date agreed with us.
